PAFnow Event Filter

With the PAFnow Event Filter you can discover deviations or compliance problems in your process. You can analyze the order of process steps in your process sequence and draw conclusions on the compliance with given rules.

This is the icon of the Event Filter in the Visualizations pane:

How to get started

Before you can analyze the order of your process sequence with the PAFnow Event Filter, you have to drag the required fields into the respective buckets.

Example

Variant: Drag-and-drop VariantId from the Cases table into the Variant bucket under Visualizations.

Event Number: Drag-and-drop EventNumber from the EventLog table into the Event Number bucket under Visualizations.

Activity Name: Drag-and.drop ActivityName from the EventLog table into the Activity Name bucket under Visualizations and select First in the drop-down-menu

How to use

Once you have selected the necessary fields for the PAFnow Event Filter, you can start to analyze the order of a selected process sequence.

Left Shortlist

Here you can choose one or more activities as the starting point for the analysis of your process sequence. If you select more than one activity, you can choose between Any and All in the drop-down-menu above the shortlist. All means that all activities must be part of the sequence, Any means that at least one of the activities must be part of the sequence.

Click on an activity to select it, repeat as often as needed. Alternatively, you can click-and-drag or press shiftand click to select a sequence of activities.

Right Shortlist

Here you can choose one or more activities to specify subsequent steps of your selected starting points. If you select more than one activity, you can choose between Any and All in the drop-down-menu above the shortlist. All means that all activities must be part of the sequence, Any means that at least one of the activities must be part of the sequence. Look at the Left Shortlist for all options to add activities.

Drop-down-menu

The drop-down-menu offers you the following options:

Option Description
Directly followed Shows you all cases in which the subsequent activity from the right shortlist took place directly after the starting activity from the left shortlist.
Eventually followed Shows you all cases in which the subsequent activity from the right shortlist took place any time after the starting activity from the left shortlist.
Not directly followed Shows you all cases in which the subsequent activity from the right shortlist never took place directly after the starting activity from the left shortlist.
Not eventually followed Shows you all cases in which the subsequent activity from the right shortlist never took place after the starting activity from the left shortlist

Choosing and Deleting Filters

Click Apply to set the Event Filter. When you click Clear the set filter is deleted.

Required Fields

In order to use the Event Filter, you have to drag the required fields into the respective buckets.

Name Type Description
Variant Numerical Use the VariantId from the Cases table.
Event Number Numerical Use the EventNumber from the EventLog table.
Activity Name Categorical Use the ActivityName from the EventLog table.

Formatting

In the Formatting pane formattingIcon you can personalize and customize the Event Filter. We show and explain the different possibilities below.

Relation Selector

Name Description
Color Changes the color of the Relations Selector (drop-down).
Text Color Changes the text color of the Relations Selector (drop-down).
Text Size Changes the text size of the Relations Selector (drop-down) (in points pt).

Operator Selector

Name Description
Color Changes the color of the operation selection (All or Any in the drop-down-menu) on the left and on the right.
Text Color Changes the text color of the operation selection on the left and on the right.
Text Size Changes the text size of the operation selection on the left and on the right (in points pt).

Activity Selector

Name Description
Color Changes the color of the activity selection list on the left and on the right.
Text Color Changes the text color of activities on the activity selection list on the left and on the right.
Text Size Changes the text size of activities on the activity selection list on the left and on the right (in points pt).
Hover Color Changes the color when hovering with the cursor over the activities in the selection bar.
Selection Color Changes the color in which the activities are colored when they are selected in the selection bar.
Checkmark Color Changes the coloring of the checkmark of selected attribute activities.
